With the events of yesterday dominating the news cycle, today is, of course, the anniversary of another pivotal day for America that we must never forget.

If you have never seen the full Naudet brothers documentary on 9/11, you have certainly seen much of the footage piecemeal. Both the footage of the first plane hitting the North tower, and the only surviving footage from inside the towers on that day came from one of their cameras.

September 11, 2025 - With the events of yesterday dominating the news cycle, today is, of course, the anniversary of another pivotal day for America that we must never forget. If you have never seen the full Naudet brothers documentary on 9/11, you have certainly seen much of the footage piecemeal. Both the footage of the first plane hitting the North tower, and the only surviving footage from inside the towers on that day came from one of their cameras.

The backstory is they were embedded with the NYFD filming a documentary in which they were following a new Firefighter from training, through his probationary period. On the morning of 9/11 one of the brothers, Jules, was out on a gas leak call with members of the Engine 7, Ladder 1 firehouse when they heard the roar of a plane. He swung his camera around and caught the impact of the plane hitting. They immediately loaded up on the truck and were the first unit to arrive at the towers.

For me at least, it is a difficult watch, but I try and watch the full documentary every 9/11. We must never forget.
