Trump Urges Tech Giants to Hire American, Reinforcing America First Agenda
“Many of our largest tech companies have reaped the blessings of American freedom while building their factories in China, hiring workers in India, and stashing profits in Ireland,” Trump declared.

President Donald Trump called on tech giants Google and Microsoft to prioritize hiring American workers over foreign employees, particularly from countries like India. Speaking at an artificial intelligence summit in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday night, Trump criticized the tech industry’s globalist tendencies, which he argued have undermined American workers and national interests.
“Many of our largest tech companies have reaped the blessings of American freedom while building their factories in China, hiring workers in India, and stashing profits in Ireland,” Trump declared. “All the while dismissing and even censoring their fellow citizens right here at home. Those days are over. Winning the AI race will demand a new spirit of patriotism and national loyalty in Silicon Valley and long beyond Silicon Valley.”
Trump’s push aligns with his longstanding America First policies, which emphasize economic nationalism and resistance to globalism. For decades, tech companies have outsourced jobs and built overseas operations to cut costs, often at the expense of American workers. Trump’s demand for these companies to “put America first” reflects his broader agenda to restore domestic manufacturing, secure supply chains, and prioritize U.S. citizens in the workforce. His administration has consistently challenged globalist practices that favor foreign labor and offshore profits over American prosperity.
At the summit, Trump also signed three executive orders to bolster the U.S. tech sector, including one supporting the construction and expansion of data centers and semiconductor fabrication plants on American soil. These measures aim to reduce reliance on foreign infrastructure and strengthen national security by keeping critical technology production at home.
“We need U.S. technology companies to be all in for America,” Trump emphasized. “You have to do that. That’s all we ask.” The call to action underscores his commitment to reversing the outsourcing trends that have hollowed out American industries, urging tech giants to invest in the nation that has enabled their success.
